Wired on the Music Industry

San Francisco's own Wired Magazine just put out an issue devoted to technology-related changes to the music industry. The two most notable pieces are on a new approach to music marketing and the rise and the ensuing reaction to Pitchfork Media. Both pieces are now available on Wired's website. More commentary to come.

Boss, how clearly do you remember me suggesting six years ago that one day artists would release whole albums in multitrack form? How about me ranting in late 2000 about how one day soon DJs would use Internet channels to distribute "illegal" music with "illegal" samples, and would become stars that way, and then eventually they would make "legal" music that everyone would love? I believe everyone thought I was "Crazy" back then, didn't they?
