Christmas Came a Little Late This Year

Ho, ho, ho ho.

This utterance has found its way out of my belly, up my esophagus and out of my mouth many, many times this past week. Almost all of these occasions were somehow connected to the news that Dick Cheney had accidentally shot a 'hunting' partner, that the 'hunting' involved pulling up to the quail in cars, that the White House got busted trying to downplay or even outright squelch the story and that Cheney had 'a beer' before the incident (when has Cheney, or Bush for that matter, ever been able to stop at one?).

I have revelled in the late-night talk show mocking, the Daily Show half-embarrassed-at-how-easy-they-make-it needling and, best of all, the absolutely hilarious footage of press secretary Scott McClellan trying to deal with the increasing hostile and exasperated White House press corps.
